Lisa S. Zahn
Ms. Zahn is board certified in family law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. She practices family law exclusively. Ms. Zahn received her bachelor’s degree, with honors, from the University of St. Thomas in Houston, Texas, in 1984, where she majored in Communication with a concentration in radio-television-film. Ms. Zahn was accepted into the radio-television-film graduate programs at both the University of Texas at Austin and the University of North Texas; she began the graduate program at the University of North Texas before moving to Los Angeles. After working in marketing and as a writer for radio in Los Angeles, California, Ms. Zahn returned to Texas in 1989. She entered law school at Texas Wesleyan University School of Law in Fort Worth, Texas, in 1990, where she competed on the school’s national Mock Trial Team, was a member of the Order of Barristers, and received the 2002 Goosetree Scholar award. Ms. Zahn received her law degree and was admitted to the State Bar of Texas in 1994.
Ms. Zahn has spoken at seminars for single women, Peacekeepers, Inc. seminar on Domestic Violence, and the National Business Institute, Inc. She has been a contributing writer to single mothers’ periodicals. She has a wealth of experience in representing clients in simple and complex divorce, family violence, custody disputes, child support modification and enforcement, as well as in all other areas of family law practice. Ms. Zahn has been trained in the practice of collaborative law since 2006 and represents clients in the collaborative law process in those cases which are appropriate for the resolution of disputes utilizing the collaborative law process.
She is a member of the Dallas Bar Association, Family Law Section and Collaborative Law Section; the Collin County Bench Bar Foundation, the Collin County Bar Association, the Annette Stewart Inn of Court, the Collaborative Law Institute of Texas, and is active in the Collaborative Solutions Practice Group of Dallas, Texas.
Ms. Zahn was born in Austin, Texas, and raised in Houston, Texas.
