Michael P. Geary was born in Dallas, Texas in 1954.
Mr. Geary received his bachelor's degree from the University of Texas at Austin in 1976. He received his law degree from South Texas College of Law and was admitted to the State Bar of Texas in 1979. Mr. Geary was board certified as a specialist in the area of family law in 1985 and maintains that certification to date. Mr. Geary is a fellow of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers, a Master in the Annette Stewart American Inn of Court, and maintains memberships in various other professional organizations.
Mr. Geary is certified as an arbitrator by the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers and the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority, Inc (FIRA). Mr. Geary is recognized by his peers as being one of the outstanding family law attorneys in the Dallas area. In 1995 and again in 2001, he was featured in D Magazine as being one of "Dallas' best family lawyers," and was recognized as a "Super Lawyer" in the area of Family Law by Texas Monthly Magazine in 2003, 2004, 2005 and 2006. Mr. Geary was also selected by his peers to be included in "The Best Lawyers in America" for 2006 and 2007. Recently, Mr. Geary was featured in the May 2007 issue of Forbes Magazine.
